Dr. Jessica Newton Banks, PhD
Dr. Jessica Newton Banks is a distinguished leader in behavioral and mental health, with expertise in addressing substance use disorders and promoting holistic well-being. She is the founder of both Stepping Stones Community Resources, Inc., established in 2012, and Stepping Stones Primary Care in 2018, demonstrating her commitment to delivering comprehensive services that address the diverse needs of individuals and families. Through her leadership, Dr. Newton Banks has championed strength-based, person-centered care, earning her a reputation as a compassionate and innovative professional dedicated to improving lives and fostering healthier communities.
Datanya Betts, RN, BSN, DNP-FNP, PMHNP
Datanya is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 18 years of registered nursing experience in acute care services. She has progressively moved through nursing management positions, beginning with Assistant Director of Nursing to Director of Nursing. She was the Clinical Nurse Manager for a medical-surgical nursing unit for 5 years.
Datanya holds a Doctorate of Science in Nursing with a concentration of Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Winston Salem State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the Daemen College located in Amherst, NY.
Datanya is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and currently serves on the Healthcare systems Board and Quality Committee of outreach intervention programs. She received the Nightingale Award for Nursing Excellence and was nominated for the 2019 Nursing Excellence Award for Leadership from Nursing Spectrum. In 2024, Datanya Betts received her psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner certification to expand the scope of her care.
Datanya is committed to nursing excellence, improving nursing operations, the value of professionalism, quality outcomes and collaborative practice with patient/family centered care.
Diane Newton – Office Administrator/LPN
Diane has 30 years experience in various types of nursing. She worked at Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Washington, DC, as well as, Kaiser Permanente Pediatrics Urgent Care for the past 20-years. She’s looking forward to applying all her experiences to give great care to all our patients at Stepping Stones Primary Care.
